As we gear up for our next Society 414 Event on August 8th, we take a look back at our premiere event which took place on June 19th. The event was a private launch exclusively for press and friends of Society 414.
The first event's key, or theme, was fresh. Society 414 is a fresh new concept to Atlanta, and we wanted our first event to have the same feel. From the cocktails to the entertainment, everything felt fresh, new and modern.
Guests arrived at the Solarium in Decatur and were greeted with evening cocktails provided by and hand crafted with Trianon Tequila. The night's signature cocktail was the Trianon Mule - a chilled mixture of trianon tequila, ginger beer, lychee, lemon and lime juices, thyme and egg white. It was the perfect way to cool off on a hot summer night.
After everyone arrived, guests were whisked inside for the remainder of cocktail hour. Guests played cocktail bingo where couples worked together to find other couples who had the matching description. The game served as an icebreaker to introduce couples to one another. The winners of cocktail bingo won prizes including a Keurig brewer and a Georgia Brown Box from Georgia Crafted.
During cocktail hour, guests munched on a variety of fresh salsas including pineapple mango, garlic lime verde, black bean and corn, and rojo salsa. Also inside were additional beverage choices including lemonade, Mexican cervezas, sangria and margaritas.
For entertainment, couples had the opportunity to jump inside the Shutterbooth and "get fresh" with one another in front of a gold sequin backdrop, using custom props and confetti pops from Ten23 Designs.
Also for entertainment, there was a fresh competition in guacamole crafting. Alvaro Victoria, our guest teaching chef and Mexico native, demonstrated the traditional way of making guacamole. After viewing the demonstration, couples were grouped into teams and competed against one another to create the perfect guacamole with their choice of secret ingredient. Some were spicy and some were sweet and a panel of judges picked the winners. The winners each received a custom stamped fork from Block & Hammer.
After the guacamole competition, our couples made their way to the escort card table where their key to dinner and table assignments waited. They entered the space which had been completely transformed with luxurious draping, sparkling linens, custom lighting, and dazzling florals.
The first course was a refreshing salad of mixed greens with honey-lime vinaigrette, tortilla crisps, tomato, tropical fruit and tajin along with a sweet corn cake. For the main course our guest chef, Chef Laurel Elaine Mangham, served sweet jalapeño glazed shrimp and coconut rice along with a tostada bar. The food was delicious and of course very fresh.
Dessert and Send Off
Following dinner, guests were led back outside where a prosecco toast awaited under the stars. Everyone clinked glasses and gushed praises for a successful launch event. No dinner is complete without desert, so guests enjoyed chocolate and coconut cupcakes. Each couple also left with a favor bag full of hand-crafted caramels from Shotwell Candy Comany. The entire evening was magical, and left everyone wondering what lies ahead at the next Society 414 event.
